Terms
- gauge
- the width of the film strip, usually expressed in millimetres (mm). The standard
gauge is 35 mm.
- Genie Awards
- annual awards presented to Canadians by the Academy of Cinema and
Television; Canada's version of the Oscars.
- genre
- a film using the characteristics of a pre-established convention. In American
films, some common genres are sci-fi, westerns and horror films.
- Golden Globe Awards
- awards in both film and television categories presented annually by
Hollywood Foreign Press Association
- grainy, graininess
- an image which seems to be made up of distinquishable particles or grains
