gauge
the width of the film strip, usually expressed in millimetres (mm).  The standard gauge is 35 mm.
Genie Awards
annual awards presented to Canadians by the Academy of Cinema and Television; Canada's version of the Oscars.
genre
a film using the characteristics of a pre-established convention.  In American films, some common genres are sci-fi, westerns and horror films.
Golden Globe Awards
awards in both film and television categories presented annually by Hollywood Foreign Press Association
grainy, graininess
an image which seems to be made up of distinquishable particles or grains
