- selective focusing
- on-screen focus change from object in foreground to object in background or vice
versa. See also rackfocusing
- slow motion
- an action scene filmed at a rate faster than the standard projection rate
of 24 fps and then projected at the standard rate,
thereby creating the effect of slower than normal motion.
- star
- an extremely popular film actor. See also personality
star and persona
- storyline
- a detailed description of the plot or a motion
picture, TV series, etc. for use by writers, producers, or prospective investors
- surrealism
- expressing the activities of the subconscious mind through fantastic imagery
- sync
- abbreviation for synchronization and usually refers the relationship between the sound
and the picture
- sync track
- a sound track recorded in sync with a camera recording
