thematic montage: type of editing theorized and practiced by Russian film maker Sergi Eisenstein. Shots edited together not in a realistic style but rather for their symbolic associations in order to express the filmmaker's thematic message. Classic examples are Lonely Boy and Roger & Me. see montage
tilt shot: also called tilt pan or vertical pan...it is a shot in which the camera is vertically tilted on a tripod, looking up and looking down the subject
