Water Treatment Plant Maintenance Begins Next Week

Starting next week. Kincardine residents and business owners will be asked to conserve water due to maintenance taking place at the water treatment plant. During this time from November 25th-29th, the municipality will receive water from the Township of Huron-Kinloss. Kincardine will be implementing Stage 2 Water Supply Emergency Restrictions of the Outdoor Water Use By-Law....

SBGHC Shares Staffing Update, Possible Options For Its Hospitals In Grey Bruce

The South Bruce Grey Health Centre has provided more information about the status of its staffing shortage in a series of public meetings.... The Chesley and Durham hospitals have seen service reductions over the past few years and Durham’s ten inpatient beds were moved out of the hospital this past summer and shared among the Kincardine and Walkerton sites. South Bruce Grey Health Centre maintains that it does not currently have the staffing resources to maintain 24/7 emergency services at the Chesley and Durham sites. It says in order to go back to full operation it needs to reduce its vacancy rate for registered nurses to zero. SBGHC says before moving Durham’s inpatient beds, the SBGHC average vacancy rate for registered nurses across all four sites was 44 per cent. It says now, its vacancy rate is 12 per cent as a result of reducing hours in Chesley and Durham and moving Durham’s beds....

With winter on the horizon, Bruce County’s Transportation and Environmental Services Department is reminding residents of the county’s Winter Road Conditions page. The webpage is a one stop shop tool which is periodically updated each day throughout the winter months and as weather warrants. The page shows road closures and condition mapping and weather radar....
