| High Street Design Presentation Tonight In Saugeen Shores 11/25/2024 An adjusted design for Southampton’s High Street reconstruction project is set to be presented in Saugeen Shores tonight. The Town is planning a reconstruction project for High Street and hired consultants from R.J Burnside to come up with a design. The initial one had some feedback or push back over a reduction of parking spaces. The new design allows for more parking. In fact, there will only be a reduction of four parking spots compared to the initially proposed loss of 65 spaces. They’ve also added some motorcycle and scooter parking spaces. The new plan includes all way stops at intersections, a 30 km speed limit. Curb extensions at intersections would be smaller, allowing for more parking, two additional EV charging stations have been nixed to allow for more regular parking.
